According to media outlet Insider Gaming, reliable sources (including interviews from the Game Developers Conference) indicate that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch in June with a three-phase game release strategy:
- Phase One: The console is scheduled for release in June 2025, with most launch titles being first-party Nintendo games. Nintendo will announce game titles, official release dates, and pricing during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation on April 2 next week.
- Phase Two: Focused on third-party developers. Third-party games are expected to be released between October and November 2025. Third-party studios will receive Switch 2 development kits in June, though some major third-party partners may already have access to the kits.
- Phase Three: Rollout of Nintendo Switch 2 first-party holiday season titles.
Additionally, select media outlets and content creators will attend a hands-on experience event for the Nintendo Switch 2 next week, where they will have limited hours to test the console and some launch titles.
