Two New Controllers Join the Lineup

Turtle Beach has expanded its Nintendo Switch 2 accessory lineup with two new Rematch Wireless RGB Gaming Controllers inspired by the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy film. The Rosalina and Koopa Troop editions bring character-themed designs to the company's established Rematch platform, giving Switch 2 players two more wireless options beyond Nintendo's own Pro Controller.

Key Features and Specs

Both controllers share the same core hardware. TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) thumbsticks replace traditional potentiometer-based sticks, addressing the drift issue that plagued the original Switch Joy-Cons. Additional specs include:

  • Dynamic RGB lighting with multiple mode options
  • Integrated motion controls for gyro-compatible games
  • Dual mappable back buttons for custom control schemes
  • 30-foot wireless range via Bluetooth
  • 40-hour rechargeable battery per charge

Koopa Troop Glow-in-the-Dark Edition

The standout of the pair is the Koopa Troop edition. Its shell features a bold glow-in-the-dark design that illuminates Bowser's iconic minions when the lights go off. The effect is layered beneath the dynamic RGB lighting, creating a dual visual display during gameplay. Artwork spans the full face of the controller with Goombas, Koopa Troopas, and Bowser himself rendered in detailed graphic style.

Rosalina Cosmic Edition

The Rosalina Rematch Wireless controller takes a more subtle approach, featuring a cosmic color palette inspired by the character's association with the Comet Observatory. The design incorporates star motifs and gradient tones across the controller shell, paired with the same RGB lighting system and TMR thumbstick technology.

Matching Carry Case

Turtle Beach is also releasing a Super Mario Galaxy-themed carry case built with a tough EVA molded shell and PU leatherette exterior. The padded interior flap shields the Switch 2 screen during transport and doubles as a game card holder. The case is designed to fit the Switch 2 console with Joy-Cons attached.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing undercuts Nintendo's own Pro Controller by a meaningful margin:

  • Controllers: $64.99 / £54.99 / €64.99 — ships May 4, 2026
  • Carry Case: $29.99 / £19.99 / €24.99 — ships June 14, 2026

Pre-orders are available now through Turtle Beach's website and major retailers.

What This Means for Switch 2 Owners

The third-party Switch 2 controller market is heating up rapidly. With TMR thumbsticks becoming the standard across premium options from Turtle Beach, CRKD, and others, Nintendo's first-party controllers face increasing pressure to match on both features and price. For Switch 2 owners looking for a wireless controller with anti-drift technology and extended battery life, the Rematch Wireless RGB line offers a compelling alternative at a lower price point.
